Where and when is the REM?

What is REM?
The Rotaract European Meeting (REM) is s a biannual international event organized under the ERIC (European Rotaract Information Centre), bringing together young leaders and Rotaractors from across Europe to connect, learn, and celebrate cultural diversity.
Rotaract is a global network of young adults (typically aged from 18 till around ~30) who work together to develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and promote international understanding. It operates under the Rotary International umbrella, offering opportunities for professional growth, service projects, and cultural exchange.

Till when can I buy activity tickets?
Activity tickets are available to book from 7 DECEMBER 21:00 until 13 January 23:59.
When will Pre & Post REM packages be available?
The Pre & Post REM packages will be available from the second wave.

I need to update my info till when and how do i do this?
If you need to update the ticket info (because you sold your ticket, new roommate preference, dietary restrictions, e.g.) you have until 13 January 23:59 to send an email to info.remutrecht@gmail.com
After the 13th of January we are unable to make changes to your booking.
Payment
Can I refund my ticket?
No, all sales are final, and refunds are not available after payment is made.
Can I transfer or resell my ticket to another person?
Yes, you can. Tickets are issued to the named individual, and any transfer or resale to another person requires approval from the Host Organizing Committee. Please contact us at info.remutrecht@gmail.com
In case you resell, you have until 13 January 23:59 to inform us by email. After this we cannot make anymore changes.
How can I pay?
You payment instantly for your ticket when booking. This is done through the Weeztix platform.

Travel
How do I get to Utrecht?
Arriving by Plane and/or Train
Utrecht is centrally located with frequent direct intercity trains to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Groningen, Maastricht, Rotterdam and many other places in the Netherlands, as well as trains to Germany. The NH Utrecht Jaarbeurs hotel is just a two-minute walk from Utrecht Central Station.
If you arrive at Schiphol Airport, the easiest way to get to Utrecht is by direct intercity train from the airport station. Trains run every 10–15 minutes and take about 30 minutes. If you arrive at Eindhoven airport, first get a bus to Eindhoven Central Station, then get a direct train to Utrecht, the train ride takes around an hour.
For trains in NL it is not needed to book in advance. You can travel by simply checking in at the gates/poles using your contactless debit/credit card, mobile wallet, or by purchasing a paper ticket at the machine (note: paper tickets cost €1 extra). You MUST check out at the arrival station at the gates with the SAME card you used to check in. It is NOT possible to buy train tickets on the train or from the ticket inspector.
Tip: Download the free NS (Dutch Railways) app (available in English) for real-time train schedules, platform changes, and service alerts. Also gives you the possibility to buy tickets online.
Bus Next to Utrecht Central Station, you’ll find the terminal for international bus services operated by companies such as FlixBus and BlaBlaCar (temporarily moved to Utrecht Leidsche Rijn station during day hours), offering connections to cities across the Netherlands and Europe. Utrecht also has an extensive local and regional bus network at the Central Station.
Similar to the train, you can pay by simply checking in and out with a contactless debit/credit card or mobile phone. Cash is not accepted on local buses. For the latest routes and schedules, you can use the 9292 travel planner app or Google Maps.
Taxi
At Utrecht Central Station, there is an official taxi stand. Apps like Uber and Bolt are also active in the city. However, Taxi's are expensive in the Netherlands and due to the historic city center cars are not allowed to drive everywhere. Hence its often better, quicker, cheaper, to walk, cycle, or take the bus to where you have to go.
How do I get around Utrecht?
Utrecht is a very walkable and bike-friendly city, known for its safe and extensive cycling paths. Renting a bike is one of the best ways to explore the city. While the Dutch OV-fiets bike rental system exists, it can be tricky for first-time visitors due to registration and payment requirements. Instead, you might one to check out to rent a bike at a local bike shops near the hotel where you can rent quickly with just an ID and a small deposit.
For longer distances, Utrecht has a comprehensive local bus network connecting neighbourhoods and nearby towns, and regular trains run from Utrecht Central Station to other Dutch cities and suburbs. You can pay for buses and trains easily with contactless debit/credit cards, mobile wallets, or public transport cards.

Extra tips:
Utrecht’s city centre is compact, so walking is often faster than driving or taking a bus.
Many bike rental shops are located near Utrecht Central Station.

No, you need to arrange your own travel to Utrecht.

Parking can be expensive in Utrecht city. We recommend looking into Park&Ride options, where you can leave your car and get a ticket for public transport for reduced prices. (options are: P+R Westraven, P+R Papendorp, P+R Berlijnplein, or P+R Utrecht Science Park)

What type of rooms will be available?
Single rooms for an extra cost. Twins rooms are the standard when booking.
Can I choose my roommate?
Yes, you can. Please provide their full name on the registration form before purchasing. If your preference changes you have until 13 January 23:59 to inform us by email. After this we cannot make anymore changes.
I am vegan/vegetarian. Will there be suitable food at the gala?
Yes, we will have a dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu for you. If your preference changes you have until 13 January 23:59 to inform us by email. After this we cannot make anymore changes.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be suitable food at the gala?
Yes, we will provide a menu that accommodates your dietary restrictions. Please provide us with all your dietary requirements on the registration form before purchasing.

Hotel
I will be arriving early, can I already check in?
Check-in at the hotel is from 15:00. If you arrive early you can leave your baggage at the hotel.
The REM Utrecht HOC will be visibly present at the hotel from Thursday morning onwards.
Is luggage storage available?
There is luggage storage is free of charge available at the reception, however not unlimited room at the hotel storage room, full is full.
At the Central Station (2 min walk away) there are also lockers available (at a cost) in case needed.
Is there parking at the hotel?

I got an email regarding check-in online and creditcard from the hotel, why?
Note! that you can also check in physically at the hotel on the day of arrival.
The hotel sends an email to all participants staying at the hotel, instructing them to check in online and provide a credit card in advance. This counts as a deposit and will be returned to your card.
NH Hotel accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express). One credit card per room is sufficient.
Are animals allowed in the hotel?
